Many customers think that all materials will dry out given enough time, but that's just not the case. Some materials are not permeable and therefore, will trap water which can lead to secondary damages such as mold. The longer the water sits, the greater the damage. Water remediation professionals have specialized drying equipment to dry your home quickly. We are able to monitor the drying environment ensuring that your home is not susceptible to future damage caused by the water loss.
Only your insurance adjuster can say for certain whether your claim will be covered or not. That is up to your policy details. However, we are very knowledgeable of the insurance claims process and will help you navigate the confusing process of filing a claim. In situations involving smaller losses with high deductibles, it sometimes makes sense to not file a claim. In those instances, we are always willing to help you find the most affordable way to restore your home and prevent any future damage caused by the loss.
Hardwood flooring is not a permeable material, therefore, it traps water within which is hard, if not impossible, to remove. Some mitigation companies will take extensive measures to attempt to dry hardwood flooring, but as flooring specialists, it is our recommendation that wet hardwood flooring be torn out and replaced especially if it is already showing damage such as cupping. If we feel that a material can not be salvaged, we will discuss with you the best way to proceed.
To protect your hardwood flooring:
The key to keeping your hardwood floors clean is to do a little… often! Consistent and constant care to your hardwood floors is the best remedy for keeping them beautiful for a long time. Use mild, neutral cleaners on your hardwood floors. Never use Murphy’s Oil Soap or any products containing wax or soaps as these cleaners may leave a residue on the floors which breaks down the durability of the finish and affects the ability to maintenance coat successfully in the future. We have some great cleaning products in our store to keep your floors looking great for many years to come.
Carpet is not seamless, so yes there will be seams. However, we use the best technology available to ensure that seams are as minimal as possible. Carpets with patterns tend to show seams more. Thicker carpets such as cut piles or shags tend to hide seams better than thinner carpets and patterns.
